Modalities

The following are the primary modalities Sarah employs in her sessions...

acupuncture

Acupuncture

Acupuncture works wonders to re-energize your body as a whole.  Treatments involve the insertion of very thin needles into various points on the body.  This action, intending to redirect the flow of your blood and energy, triggers of cascade of beneficial events including: releasing natural pain killers, immune boosting, and stress-reducing biochemicals, adjusting the way your brain perceives pain, and ultimately bathing your tissues in the healing properties of your own blood.  Acupuncture can reduce inflammation in tendons, lengthen shortened muscles, recalibrate your nervous system, and optimize the function of your organs.  While Chinese medicine can serve as a stand-alone medical system, it is also a wonderful adjunct to Western medical care.  Acupuncture sessions are 60-90 minutes long and may also include cupping, moxa-bustion, electro-stimulation, or acupressure.

Herbal medicine

Available in a pill, tincture, powder, or for the hard-core, a raw herbal decoction, Chinese medicine uses a sophisticated diagnostic approach to determine which formula will be most effective in bringing about lasting transformation within each patient's inner terrain.  Sarah has trained extensively in Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine and seeks out herbal medicine of the highest quality and  best price point for her patients.

Depth Hypnosis

Depth Hypnosis is a powerful and effective spiritual counseling technique that actively engages patients to quickly and permanently work through mental, emotional, and spiritual blockages that keep them from being fully embodied and fully empowered.  Depth Hypnosis sessions are available virtually, over the phone, and in-person.  In-person sessions may be combined with acupuncture to support the patient in whatever may be needed for greater engagement in the process.  While every patient has different needs, in general the first session involves a detailed intake of the patient's emotional biography and current presenting problem.  In the second session the patient is guided in a mildly altered state to connect with his or her inner wisdom.   All subsequent sessions explore whatever issue is most relevant in that moment for that individual - often addressing energetic obstacles, emotional imbalances, or tenuous relationships with the self or others that cause suffering.   These explorations lead to great insight and lasting transformations.

Diagnostic Modalities

Your Chinese medical diagnosis, acupuncture points, herbal formula, and lifestyle guidance are determined by a thorough examination of, primarily the pulses at your wrists, but also your tongue appearance, and the qualities palpable in your abdomen.  Sarah uses these findings as the cornerstone of her treatments and recommendations, and to evaluate their efficacy.

Pediatric Treatments

Sarah employs a variety of modalities and techniques to stimulate the inner healing resources of her littlest patients.  Depending on the sensitivity of the patient, treatments may include acupressure, massage, gua-sha, cutaneous electro-stimulation, magnets, moxabustion, herbal medicine, supplements, and on occasion a "pin" or two.   Commonly treated pediatric conditions include sleep disorders, allergies, asthma, and digestive imbalances.   However, for perfectly healthy children, quarterly treatments are an excellent way to transition smoothly with the seasons and keep everyone feeling great.
